1) Outline a weekly food plan – Jot down some basic menu ideas. You will eventually base your grocery list on this plan. As you construct your list, you may want to consult with other members of the household. This will help create “buy-in.” Everyone has a say in what's prepared, and other household members may even want to help with meal preparations.
Your food plan should also consider use of leftovers. Do you usually use leftovers for breakfast or lunch the next day? If yes, then cook a little extra for the next day. If you do not enjoy leftovers, consider freezing extras for a quick meal on another night.
