How much time will it take me online to complete each week’s lessons?
It’s estimated that it will take you between 10-20 minutes per lesson (there are 4 lessons each week).
Can I jump ahead and check out lessons in future weeks?
No, the course is designed specifically to build your knowledge base in a way that you will gradually adapt new behaviors.
Can I go back and review an earlier lesson I’ve already completed?
Yes, you can always review at any time. In fact, this is recommended!
Why do Week 2 (or 3, 4, 5, etc.) Lessons show up at the top of my Lesson Home Page when I haven’t done the lessons from the week before?
This may happen if you’ve gone more than 7 days between sign-ons. The programming will only add one week’s lessons every 7 days. You need to scroll down to locate where you left off, then complete that week’s lessons before moving on to the next week.
What happens if I get through a few weeks, then something happens that prevents me from continuing on with the course. Can I get a refund?
No, there are no refunds. However, you have the option of starting over at any point if you’ve already paid for the course. Rather than ‘picking up where you left off,’ we suggest you start with earlier lessons to get you back on track.
Is my journal area read by everyone?
No, the journal is your own private area; even the website manager cannot access this information. Journaling is considered to be a truly personal tool.
What happens if I get STUCK and can’t go to the next lesson because I cannot pass the quiz?
Quizzes are necessary to assure that you understand the information presented. Please give it your best effort. After three failed attempts, you will be permitted to move along to the next lesson. However, we suggest you review the lesson at a later date until the message is mastered.
What if I don’t want to lose weight, but just want to learn to eat better? Is it necessary to take the entire 16-week Healthy Weight 4 Life course?
This 16-week course represents a wealth of knowledge of nutritionists, physiologists, psychologists, wellness experts, and is based on findings from our NIH-based research study called Healthy Weight 4 Life. Much of this information applies to behavioral changes that are necessary for leading a healthy lifestyle, so anyone could benefit from taking this course.
